For students in Grades 1 through 12

About our Program

Registration will open in April for 2025-2026 Youth Faith Formation in-person and home study classes for students in grades K-5 who do not attend Catholic School.  Faith Formation classes will begin in September 2025 and run through the end of April 2026 following the LCISD calendar. Students entering 1st grade will automatically be included in the 1st year Sacramental Prep for 1st Eucharist/Reconciliation.  There will be a fee in the 2nd year of Sacramental Prep.  For those who have not made their 1st Eucharist/Reconciliation and are above the 1st grade, please call our office at 281-342-8371.  In this way, we will place you into the 1st year of Sacramental Prep.  These students who are above 1st grade seeking these sacraments, sign up for your normal grade level for the 1st year.

Sacramental Preparation for 1st Eucharist/Reconciliation Registration 

Sacramental Preparation for 1st Eucharist/Reconciliation is a two year process, usually beginning in 1st grade. A Copy of Baptismal Certificate Required. Simultaneous attendance at Faith Formation classes is required for Sacramental Prep students. See above to register for regular Faith Formation Classes. 

We will open registration for 1st Eucharist/1st Reconciliation after the parent meeting in the 2nd year.  We will provide a QR code and a link here for your convenience.     

We have many families who belong to Eastern Rite churches such as the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Your child has made 1st Eucharist/Confirmation at Baptism, but you are free to come and join us for classes and you may receive the Eucharist with others in our community.  

We have several families who belong to Eastern Orthodox churches.  You may NOT receive the Eucharist or Confirmation with in the Roman Catholic.  In order to receive the Roman Catholic Sacraments, you must make a Profession of Faith.  Then you are free to receive our Sacraments.  Call 281-342-8371 for clarification.

1st Year of Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation & Eucharist (Grades 1-11)

Requirements for first year of Sacramental Preparation (Sac Prep):

• • Regular attendance in Faith Formation Classes In-Person Only (email dena@sacredhrt.com)
    • 2 unexcused absences permitted per semester
    • Submit doctor's excuses to Dena at dena@sacredhrt.com.
    • Excess absences will cause extra year's delay in receiving sacraments
  • Email copy of Baptismal Certificate to Dena at dena@sacredhrt.com. If your child was baptized at Sacred Heart, Richmond, TX you do NOT need to email us this. 
  • Attend weekly Sunday Mass (Saturday evening or Sunday)
  • Memorize Prayers: Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be 

2nd Year of Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation and Eucharist (Grades 2-5)

All 1st graders are placed automatically into Sacramental Preparation.  For those above 1st grade, you must call us:  281-342-8371.  2nd Year Sacramental Prep this year for will occur during regular Faith Formation classes on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. Once a semester a parent(s) is required to attend a Sacramental Prep  meeting on the same night their child is in Faith Formation Class. There will also be a mandatory Parent/Child Reconciliation Retreat in December and Parent/Child Eucharistic Retreat in April. Our 1st Eucharist Mass is usally on the last Saturday morning of April.  

Requirements for 2nd year of Sacramental Preparation (Sac Prep):

• • Children to regularly attend in-person only Faith Formation Classes. For information about and regular Faith Formation classes.
    • only 2 absences permitted per semester
    • Submit doctor's excuses to Dena at dena@sacredhrt.com.
    • Excess absences will cause extra year's delay in receiving sacraments
  • Registration for 1st Eucharist is $50.  A separate fee from Faith Formation.  We will provide a QR code or link in the 2nd Yr Parent Sac Prep Meeting
  • At least one parent must attend a Sac Prep parents meeting on the same night their child is in Faith Formation Class. 
  • Email copy of Baptismal Certificate to Dena at dena@sacredhrt.com. If your child was baptized at Sacred Heart, Richmond, TX you do NOT need to email us this, but let us know. 
  • Attend weekly Sunday Mass (Saturday evening or Sunday)
  • Formal assessments given in December and April (study guides will be given) 
  • Parent/Child Reconciliation Retreat on a Saturday morning in December
  • Parent/Child Eucharistic Retreat on a Saturday morning in April

2nd Year of Sacramental Preparation for 1st Reconciliation and Eucharist (Grades 6-8)

All 1st graders are placed automatically into Sacramental Preparation.  For those above 1st grade, you must call us:  281-342-8371. 2nd Year Sacramental Prep for 6-8 grade students will be done by pulling kids from their regular classes once a month for Sac Prep lessons. There will also be a mandatory Parent/Child Reconciliation Retreat in December and Parent/Child Eucharistic Retreat in April. Our 1st Eucharist Mass is usally on the last Saturday morning of April.

Requirements for 2nd year of Sacramental Preparation (Sac Prep):

• • Children attend Faith Formation classes on Wednesday nights (It is a 2 year process.  1st year, sign up with Faith Formation for your normal grade level.)
  • Email copy of Baptismal Certificate to Dena at dena@sacredhrt.com. If your child was baptized at Sacred Heart, Richmond, TX you do NOT need to email us this. 
  • Attend weekly Sunday Mass (Saturday evening or Sunday)
  • Formal assessments given in December and April (study guides will be given) 
  • Parent/Child Reconciliation Retreat on a Saturday morning in December
  • Parent/Child Eucharistic Retreat on a Saturday morning in April
