Mass Intentions

  • Mass Intention request forms are in the Church pamphlet rack, in the Church Office, or you may download and print the form HERE.
  • No Mass requests will be taken over the telephone at the parish office. Homebound and those unable to visit the Church Office may mail the request and Mass stipend to:  Sacred Heart, 507 S. Fourth Street, Richmond, Texas, 77469, Attention: Mass Intention.
  • Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis in the order in which the request is received.
  • Requests will be granted as close to the requested date and time as possible. If it is not possible to comply with the primary request, the next closest date and time will be scheduled and the requester will be notified.
  • Limit of five of the same intention requested at one time. Any more than five will be sent out of the parish to be fulfilled.
  • Please be specific in your request. Examples: for a deceased relative or friend, for the health of a friend or relative, for peace in the world, for the Holy Father, in thanksgiving for something, in honor of a birthday or anniversary.
  • We cannot accept requests for unknown, private, or special intentions or intentions that contradict Catholic teaching or doctrine.
  • Mass Stipend:  It is an ancient Christian tradition for the faithful to give an offering for a requested Mass intention. The Mass stipend is a donation, not the price you pay for Mass. Stipends are a free-will offering, and the Mass intention requester decides the amount to offer.
